What: A class-action lawsuit requiring $175 million of luxury cosmetics be distributed for free.
When: Beginning January 20, 2009 and continuing for 7 days or while supplies last, whichever comes first.
Where: Bergdorf Goodman, Bergner's, Bloomingdales, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Dillard's, Gottschalks, Herbergers, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Parisian, Saks Fifth Avenue, Younkers.
Who: Members of the class eligible to receive a free cosmetic item are consumers who have purchased a
qualifying cosmetic item from a
qualifying manufacturer between May 29, 1994 and July 16, 2003 at:

Upon phoning our local Carson Pirie Scott, the customer service team were immediately aware of this lawsuit. They said they no proof of purchase would be needed, but that class action members would be required to sign a log book upon receiving their free cosmetic item. What you receive depends on what you purchased during the qualifying timeframe. If you only purchased one product, you only get your choice of available free products for that particular manufacturer. If you purchased several qualifying items you my choose one free product from amongst those offered by the relevant manufacturers.
